Week of Dec 19- Rome Test and DBQ

Due Wednesday:  Scaffolding Questions (the questions that follow each document) and the Box Outline.

Thursday you will be writing the DBQ in class.  You can use your completed scaffolding question and box outline. 

Friday you will take the multiple choice part of the Rome test. 

Due Friday:  Rome photo journal...you only need one picture

Make sure all make-up homeworks for Rome are submitted by Thursday.  See us for extra help to see if you are missing anything and for help with the PJ and DBQ.

Test corrections due Wed (11/23) & Extra Credit opportunities

Test corrections on the India/China test are due Wed.  You can earn 1 point for every question you got wrong if you do the corrections 'correctly'. 

Extra Credit if you go to tonight's talent show (tuesday 11/22) Show us your ticket on Wednesday.  Also extra credit if you bring in canned food Wednesday for the Thanksgiving food drive.

How to do test corrections!!!!

1.    Summarize or rewrite each question you got wrong. 
2.    Summarize or copy the correct answer for that question.
3.    Write a very good explanation for why that is the correct answer.

You will only get points back on your test if you write a very good explanation for the right answer!!!

**Due Dates and Important Information**

Due on Tuesday: All FIVE photo journals (Mesopotamia, Egypt, Indus, Hebrews, and China) must be printed and in class with you.  We will collect them and grade them. 

Tuesday will be our unit test for the River Valley Civilizations.  Therefore, all homeworks that were due during this unit MUST BE MADE UP by Tuesday.  We will not accept any late homeworks from this unit after Tuesday.  If you are unsure if you are missing anything, please see Mrs. Kavanagh if you are in period 1 and Ms. Hahn for periods 4 & 6 by Monday.

Advocate Decision Making: Neolithic Revolution--Great OR Not

Homework: Click HERE for a blank copy if you misplaced yours or were absent today.

Judges: On your advocate sheet, come up with 5 questions to ask the advocates.  Do not complete the second part of the page. You will do that during class.
For example:
Name two ways that farming was a more efficient way of getting food than hunting and gathering (for advocates of farming).  Name two ways that hunting and gathering provided a better lifestyle than farming (for advocates against farming).

Advocates: You were given a side to advocate for (for Farming or against farming).  Completely fill out the advocate sheet in order to be prepared for the argument.

Today in the computer lab, students started their summer essays in Google docs. Students can access their work at home by logging into their student email from the Bellmore-Merrick homepage. We will be working on the essays again tomorrow in the lab, but students should have the first TWO paragraphs finished tonight.
